Vida, técnica y naturaleza en el pensamiento de Gilbert Simondon

Este trabajo examina la relación entre lo natural y lo artificial, y entre el ser viviente y la técnica, en la filosofía de Gilbert Simondon. Una de las atracciones del pensamiento de Simondon es que intenta pensar la tecnología en el marco de una teoría general de lo viviente y de lo humano qua viviente. Sin embargo, hay ciertos problemas que la perspectiva simondoniana no puede abordar, tales como la tecno-génesis de lo humano y el problema de la biotécnica. La propuesta de este artículo será analizar la filosofía de la técnica desde la perspectiva de la individuación. Todos los que han comentado sobre la filosofía de la técnica de Simondon se han concentrado exclusivamente en El modo de existencia de los objetos técnicos. Sin embargo, en este trabajo se intentará demostrar aquí que la filosofía simondoniana de los artefactos debe abordarse en el contexto de su filosofía de lo viviente. Esto significa que El modo de existencia de los objetos técnicos debe encararse junto con su obra magna, La individuación a la luz de las nociones de forma y de información, como un argumento continuo. Es así como ciertos problemas emergen: en particular, un marco que encuadra a la problemática de lo humano, lo viviente y la técnica desde la perspectiva de individuos ya constituidos.

This work examines the relation between the natural and the artificial, and between living and technics, in the philosophy of Gilbert Simondon. One of the attractions of Simondon’s thought is that he attempts to think technology from the perspective of a general theory of the living and of the human qua living. Nevertheless, there are certain problems that the Simondonian perspective cannot effectively engage with, such as the techno-genesis of the human and the problem of biotechnics. This article aims at analyzing the philosophy of technology from the point of view of individuation. All those scholars who have commented on Simondon’s philosophy of technology have concentrated exclusively on The Mode of Existence of Technical Objects. Nevertheless, this article will show that the Simondonian philosophy of artefacts must be read in the context of his philosophy of the living. This means that The Mode of Existence of Technical Objects must be examined in conjunction with his magnum opus, Individuation in the Light of the Notions of Form and of Information, like a continuous argument. In this manner, certain problems emerge: in particular, a certain framework that approaches the problem of concepts like “human”, “living” and “technology” from the perspective of already constituted individuals.
